The course, worth 5 ECTS credits, includes 50 hours of face-to-face lessons and 16 hours of integrative lessons. The course is held in the second semester.

The approach used is teaching for competence, the scenario is the integrated learning environment. The teaching involves the carrying out of structured remote activities (www.edurete.org/psol) consisting of video lessons, tests of comprehension with the possibility of comparing open answers between students, in-depth didactic materials, materials produced by students. In the classroom there will be moments of interaction with the teacher to discuss the progress of the project work, consisting of an empirical research that students will have to carry out in the field by interviewing and observing educators, service users, teachers, students. The research report will be discussed during the oral examination. All the information to carry out the project work can be found at www.edurete.org/psol.

Modalità di verifica dell'apprendimento

L'esame finale (preiscriversi su www.edurete.org/ps1) consiste in:

The final exam (please pre-register on www.edurete.org/ps1) consists of:

  1. a) a written competence test (4 open-ended questions to be carried out at distance in three hours the day before the date of the oral exam), including: 1) the drafting of a brief research project on a topic proposed by the teacher (score from 0 to 9 points, with a minimum threshold of 6 points), 2) and 3) two questions on the research design and strategies data collection, of which 3) on the book of your choice (score from 0 to 7 points, with a minimum threshold of 3 points), and 4) a question in which the student must demonstrate to be able to analyze the data proposed, quantitative and qualitative (score from 0 to 7 points, with a minimum threshold of 3 points). The test will be passed only if the student reaches the minimum threshold on all 4 questions. It is recommended to support this test only after completing self-assessments and exam simulation (www.edurete.org/psol).
  2. b) an in-presence oral discussion of a report of empirical research, laying the account of a field research carried out by the student. The discussion may also be done in groups (maximum 4 people and with responsibility for parts of the report divided among the members of the group). Students must design a plan of survey, gather and process quantitative and qualitative data on a topic of their choice, following the steps and criteria set out in the reference texts and slides of the course (www.edurete.org/psol), describing and justifying the choices made in the light of the theory learned. It is advisable to support the discussion only after having self-assessed your work with the self-scoring module (www.edurete.org/psol).

The ways in which the student will structure the answer, the mastery of the concepts and their exemplification, the ability to argue, the level of detail on the topic, the use of an adequate vocabulary will allow the teacher to evaluate whether and to what extent the educational objectives of the teaching have been achieved.
